The Flight
I was booked on BA057 from London Heathrow to Johannesburg, South
Africa.
The flight was on a Boeing 747, non-stop to Johannesburg, an eleven
hour flight. The flight covers 5444 miles at a speed of around 600 mph
once the plane gets up to cruising altitude and speed. There was an
extraordinary amount of turbulence for several hours, much more than I
have ever experienced and the plane was shaken about in the sky by the
wind conditions.

I was booked in to ordinary sardine class which was extremely
uncomfortable after an hour had passed. The two pictures above show
just how crowded the plane was. The food was good in comparison to some
that I have had on package holidays, however it was not as good as the
food I enjoyed last year on Scandinavian Airways on my journey to
Copenhagen.

I have never been to the Southern Hemisphere before and was quite
excited to be crossing the Equator for the first time.
